Lokomotiv Cove kick off their 2016 season against Ararat in Christie Park, Macquarie Park this Sunday, March 20 at 5:30pm. Christie Park is a major sporting facility with a Grandstand to protect those from the elements and is used by the Gladesville/Hornsby Association. Our opponents Ararat have a strong footballing tradition having been founded by Armenian migrants in 1988 and currently play in the GHFA Super League.
This is our first time meeting Ararat and we have high hopes for a competitive game played in the good natured spirit that we have become accustomed to in the FFA Cup. We have recruited well in the offseason and we are looking forward to playing such an important game 3 weeks out from the start of the season. We have had a number of competitive trial games in the sweltering heat of Macquarie Park in the last couple of months and are now ready to step it up in the final few weeks of preseason. The FFA Cup is the first opportunity for competitive games and the chance to build momentum going into the season, to say the squad are itching to get going is an understatement.
